I've added an IRC JAVA Applet to the website for anyone who is simply too lazy to use a real client.
The client will set your nickname to whatever your forum name is, however, its possible the forum name contains charactors which are not allowed in nicknames on EFnet, or is already taken.. If this is the case, you will be named 'Webchat##', You can change your name by typing: /nick New_Name
You can select a server to use in the box near the bottom, if the default server does not let you on, pick one closest to you, or a random one.
If your computer/network has a firewall or NAT that does not allow port 113, identd will not function. Dont worry you dont have to go fiddling with settings, just try a few different servers until one lets you on, not all servers require identd.
The client only allows chatting in #DeadGod on EFnet and private messaging.
Abuse of the system could result in being banned from the forums and website.
The client takes a little while to load so please do not press reload a ton.
It will connect from your local address and even includes an identd server, so dont think that its some kind of IRC Proxy.
The client can be found on the main menu or: http://deadgod.net/irc
