The Banning of OniSpyder.

well now, i just got banned from your server, by i believe it was dave. i dodged his flash then killed him, guess it pissed him off. i was playing as imma douchebag.

Yeah I did ban you. Here's why.

#1: I didn't know it was an SM (Not that it really matters, since Vodka and Goku have been known for . well, h4v1n9 50m3 Fun.)

#2: The name tipped me off. Normally you get jackoff 14 year olds with 3 dollar walls/bots/esps under retarded names like that.

#3: You had a ratio of what, 14-3? Something like that. Its not that I care about ratios or lack thereof since I've busted cheaters with 30-4 ratios and also 14-26 ratios before. Its just a knee jerk reaction for admins to spec people with high ratios. Besides, toggling is just another challenge for admins to watch out for these days.

#4: I watched you the entire time you were working with your scout on aztec. You popped like 6-7 people consecutively all from varying distances while sitting completely still and just *happened* to know where people were, even though they were clearly outside of your field of view/field of audio.

#5: The straw that broke the camels back was when I flashed you. I knew you were camping double doors (CT side) and I lobbed a flash inside. I didn't chuck the flash 30 feet away from you, I purposely aimed at the ground and made sure it was as close to you as possible. It detonated maybe three scaled feet away from you. From your corner I listened very closely to any movement of footsteps to anticipate where to aim when I came through, assuming you'd be flashed and would try to dart/dodge from me. You were still sitting there motionless. When I came through, you pre-fired, and headshot me.

So here's the thing. If you had in fact, turned around to reduce the flash's effects (which I do as well), the flash was still too close to you for you to be 'unblind' 0.8 seconds later, which is when I came through. Also, a flash at that range will 'blind' your audio for the same duration (roughly, depending on distance) which means you had no ability to hear me coming through either.

So even if by some miracle you managed to not be completely flashed from a flash THAT close, you still wouldn't have had enough visual/audio feedback to know where my head was (out of all things, a black baklava, in a dark/dimly-lit room)

If in fact you are totally innocent in this and I have made some 'grave' mistake, then you can receive my sincere apologies.

For future reference, if we know you, or you're a reg on our server, do NOT alias under dumbass names. The reason I say this is simple. Pete came on to the server under an alias and started TKing everyone. I don't know about you but I don't memorize SIDs, and I was getting an ichy ban finger because of the TKing. Of course, Pete showed himself after like four rounds of it, but my point is that bad shit can happen if there's confusion or misinterpretations.

Now for the record I didn't Tk everbody. I only TKed one person two times and that's cause he dared me to do it lol. You don't have to memorize SID's, on the player list the people's names are still there. No matter what my name is on the player list it'll still show my name as Sneaky Pete in there, also you can see on your friends list if they're in the current game with your or not.

I guess, after reading this, that the best course of action would be simple: if you are a regular and not an admin / member of SH, don't alias under dumbass names. If you ARE an admin / SH member, alias away, but don't do stupid shit like TK people (Sneaky). That would save a lot of grief and tears.

My reasons for doing it are just fine. If I hop in under an alias it's either to spec a regular who might be hacking or to find out which admins are being ban happy or whatever. So if I hop in there and am an asshole to you consider it a test to make sure that this admin ladder is actually working.

frankly, ya, i was partially blind, and no hearing. but i didn't prefire, i infact fired well after you had entered the room, killing you about midroom. and even if i had'n't seen you, i probably would have decided to prefire, because i knew you would be coming. that said, the total inaneness of you ban (my kd was at best 3.) just goes to show you either can't handle having banning power, or you just think anyone that kills you is a hacker.

anyhow, i don't hack, i in fact have been sucking pretty bad lately, and just because i magaged to only be partially blinded by flash, doesn't make a hacker. you need to learn to be more rational dave, no good comes from emotional bans, i mean if i had talked shit after, i could almost see the reasoning, but i didn't, i was just going about my business.

as for the accusation #4, did you see how many damn times i missed with that scout, i was practicing. basically i used my vision, and radar to tell where players were and where they were coming from. i see a player die in bridge room, it stands to reason there will be enemies coming from there. i'm not gonna deny i got a couple luck shots, but as for being perfectly still, thats my game, it makes me just that much easier of a target. basically, i killed people coming from bridge and double doors, double doors i could see with my eyes, and i had radar to tell me when a teammated dies in bridge room. oh ya, and i have a really nice ass set of headphones that let me hear a lot more than you'd think. i have heard hostaged getting rescued on italy when i was in the market, so don't sit there and try to tell me what i can and can't hear.

so chill out, if i'm not welcome in your server, i'll play elsewhere, just get a grip on that banning finger of yours, it'll get you into trouble someday.

First off, this response in a whole is grounds to just ignore Dave's ban, and let you stay out of the server. Being an ass to the admin who slayed/kicked/banned you is not a method to be unbanned, nor will it get the admin's actions to be reviewed.

His flashbang, as far as I understand, would have completely blinded you at that range, even if you had turned around. The duration might have been short, but if you had turned around to avoid it, you would have had to readjust completely blind to get a perfect aim on his head, which would have been roughly a 1/10000 possibility.

The "intelligent" hackers don't generally advertise the fact that they're hacking. They'll do some less-skilled stuff on purpose to lower their KDR and get the admins' attention off of them. These types are, obviously, the ones we have to pay attention to, and if Dave is not kidding around (and I see no reason for him to be), he had been watching you for some time. This was not a knee-jerk type of ban.

Missing with a scout just means the possibility of toggling, and is not a defence in any way shape or form. Actions have to be taken as a case-by-case, and the intelligence of the gun movement has to be taken in inspection in regards to enemy movement when they were beyond intelligible triangulation of sound.

Having headsets that can hear when the hosties are being rescued from market on Italy means your sound has to be cranked so high you're in danger of going deaf.



This last paragraph is to all admins, moreso than to Oni: The people to watch ARE the regulars/admins. There is no guarantee that having responsibility will make us act accordingly, and there are some people who will abuse their responsibility and power to avoid being banned for entirely disrespectful behaviour (to say the least, hacking.) Obviously, admin abuse falls under this, and I have been subject to doing it myself, however I have been trying to stop (last time was on Munch, which I apologize for, I had been debating on whether to blind you as a joke or not and my finger slipped just before I was about to cancel the thing. Not an excuse, just the circumstances and I apologize for the blinding.) Do not turn your cheek just because you know the person, or because they're an admin and wouldn't logically act improperly, as there ARE people who just think of it as an extra way to avoid being banned. If you are ever suspicious, covertly check with another admin and ask them to spectate as well when they are able. This is something that cannot be caught always by our Lieutenants, and must be recorded by our base-line Admins for review by the Lieutes. In regards to this, I have defended Aukina a few times because I know his style, I know how to beat it. My style is actually the reason he knows where you'll be, because of the sheer psychotic-ness of my style he had to adapt to knowing where I'll pop out, under what circumstances I'll pop out, and so on and so forth. That being said, DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. If you suspect him, by all means spectate. Take action if you deem it needs to be taken, but record a demo because I will defend him.

I agree 100% Teal. That's what I told to Dave was if he suspected him of anything to get a bulletproof demo of it and then send it up the chain and it'll get taken care of. If you can't get a hold of me in game or steam or xfire just send me a PM here and I'll get around to it as soon as I can. I do check the forums every 30 mins to an hour when I'm on the comp.

And yes that was the time you said that. I was the lucky waffle or something like that. You handled that a lot better then some would have and that's part of the reason why I did it. McTaco also will vouch for aukina if he ever comes back from wherever he is. I'm not sure if I'll ever trust him completely but I'm not going to be looking to ban him every single time he's in the server. He is a fun guy to play with and damn good too.

This goes along with Teal's last paragraph to all the admins. If you suspect any regular/admin or anybody who we know get a demo get a demo get a demo. If you feel uncomfortable doing something about it because you know the guy talk to another admin about it and have him check it out. If he agrees that something's not right then feel free to take care of it but when you do send a PM to liquid or I so we are prepared if they come to the forums about it.

and my remarks, while angry, weren't off the mark. frankly, being accused of hacking amuses me, since i don't do it AT ALL, and if he had a demo of it, i'd have added it to my archives for my entertainment, because i was getting lucky half the time. but how angrily dave responded, didn't amuse me. now honestly, i respect that you guys need to defend your own when it comes to "outsiders" defending themselves, but dave's response to wrongfully (that's right i said it) banning of me, wasn't a rational response, it was, in point of fact, extremely irrational. Ya, i'm sure you could call my getting lucky shots toggling, but honestly, i wouldn't know how to toggle, i don't even have keybinds or anything, i play straightforward css, nothing fancy.

dodging flashes is nothing new, i have a nice mouse that allows for that kinds of reaction time, and no i wasn't completely blind, so i could line up a "headshot" with marginal difficulty. as far as where the nade landed, it's all hearsay without a demo, and know i was partially blind prolly about 2/3 blind, but i could still see enough to see a person to fire at. fyi, every good player could look like their hacking atleast 25% of the time. i find it interesting tho, that dave would say he spec'd me, when he was always one of the last to die, it's hard to spec someone when you're alive. maybe his teammates did, and they are untrained as to what to look at for hackers, but whatevs.

I'm atleast relieved that sneaky knows me well enough to know i don't hack, and if i were to hack, why would i do it on a server i had every intention of frequenting. were i to try out hacks, i'd go to random servers i didn't give a damn about, and get banned from them without a second thought. again, i'm a fan of most of SH guys, and have no real beef with most of you. I wouldn't have even had a beef with dave, if had atleast stated his reasoning, without blatantly attacking my integrity. i got love for y'all, so everyone just chill, i didn't come in here to ruffle feathers, i came to state my case.

lastly, to reiterate my warning, if you have admins that are banning people just because they are A. better than them or B. having a really good map, you'll eventually ban all the good players, and have nothing left to kill but scrubs, you aren't gonna improve your game by killing scrubs. (i fall under category B, i'd never go far enough to say i'm better than anyone).
